Lake Thurmond, formerly known as Clarks Hill Lake, encompasses more than 71,000 acres and 1,200 miles of shoreline bordering Georgia and South Carolina. The lake is primarily fed by the Savannah River and is the largest reservoir in the southeast. And for years, it’s been one of Georgia’s premier vacation destinations.

Boating and water sports will be easily accessible from your doorstep. The lake’s vastness opens to you miles of aquatic related adventures. And when it comes to fishing…well, let it suffice to say that it’s absolutely incredible. Chances are, you’ll frequently return to your dock with a hefty catch of crappie, catfish, stripers, or largemouth bass.

The area around Providence Ferry is also known for its historic significance. Many Native American tribes considered the Savannah River lands their prime hunting grounds. Renowned Royal Botanist William Bartram collected plants and animals from the area during his trek across the south in the late 1700s. History also closely links the area to the Revolutionary War and the War Between the States.
